While this has some benefits (auto updating assets), since I was using a free service I came to find that the image links I was using expired after a week… It took me a while to realize this is what kept breaking my theme… I’m now hosting my assets on a commercial web hosting service, which should allow my theme to keep working (as long as I pay my 3rd party hosting bill).
